How can we know beyond any doubt that God exist?
Do we just have to assume it on sheer faith?

Some of us, despite a lifetime of profession of belief in God, sometimes experience doubt about God’s existence. There are two basic reasons for this doubt:

Understanding the Law of God: What it can – and cannot - do for us

By F Santos • Feb 1st, 2009 • Category: Sabbath, law, salvation

Can keeping the law save us?
Can we be saved without keeping the law?

Most Christians know that eternal life is a gift of God [Rom.6:23]. Gift, by definition is something given freely. Its receiver can not earn it. To attempt to earn it is futile - and makes no sense. What then does the law got to do - if any - with the free gift of eternal life?

Is America Nearing Its End?

Is America at the “end of its road”?
Can America recover from its present crisis?

The Iranian President Ahmadinejad, in his address before the United Nations on September 23, declared that “the American empire in the world is reaching the end of its road “. Few people probably would take the words of an eccentric and irrational person such as the Iranian president seriously. But the severity and magnitude of the financial crisis America is facing ought to make one wonder if America is really at the end of its road.

A Jealous God?

Is God a self-centered being who craved attention?
What does the Bible mean by a “jealous God”?

The popular TV host, Oprah is bothered by the idea that God is a “jealous God”. Because of this she began looking elsewhere – and ended up embracing the “new age” teaching [see video]. Oprah is just one of the many who are bothered and turned off by the thought of a “jealous God”.

Let’s face it, there are verses in the Bible that use the word “jealous” to describe God. Does that mean that God is some mean, self-centered being? Isn’t jealousy negative and immature – and indicative of some kind of insecurity? What does the Bible mean by a “jealous God”?

Walking By Faith, Not By Sight

By F Santos • Aug 31st, 2008 • Category: faith

The apostle Paul said that we walk by faith and not by sight (2 Cor. 5:7).
What does he mean? Is it wrong to determine and and take control of where we are going?
Does Paul put little value on planning ahead?

Did evolution actually happen? Can it be proved?

As mentioned in a previous post, Americans, overwhelmingly, are believers in God, as a 2005 Gallup poll found out. Only 1 percent are sure God does not exist. Yet about 40% of Americans believe evolution is true. Moreover, most developed nations have even higher percentages of believers of evolution. Obviously it is because evolution is taught in colleges and schools like it is a fact, whereas discussion of “intelligent design” or “creationism” and God is excluded or even banned.

But has evolution been proved?

Why Is God Not Real To Most People?

By F Santos • Aug 10th, 2008 • Category: God
where is God

Why does God seem so far off?
Why does God hide Himself?

In a 2005 Gallup poll nearly 80% of Americans are convinced that God exists. Only 1% are sure that God does not exist. Yet in most discussions of national and world problems – or even personal problems, God hardly seriously come into the picture. It is as if God is irrelevant or so far off to even bother about man’s urgent problems such as wars, terrorism, natural disasters, worsening epidemic of AIDS and other diseases. This clearly shows that God is not so real to most people today. But why?

The “End of the World”

Is the world coming to an end soon?
What kind of future can we and our children look forward to?

There is no doubt that we are living in an extremely dangerous and uncertain time – impending economic collapse, massive food shortage and famine, disease epidemic, drug menace, terrorism, wars – all on a global scale - and perhaps the most frightening of all, the very real threat of a nuclear World War III!
